Located in downtown Owen Sound, the former Owen Sound Bus Terminal is constructed in a style not common to the city. Its massing and strong horizontal lines provide a fitting visual terminus to a block of buildings on 2nd Avenue East. It is a good example of the Art Moderne architectural style. Typical of this style is the asymmetrical design and horizontal lines. Also typical of the style is the rounded corner, polychromatic brickwork and flat roof. Modern materials including glass blocks, stainless steel and terrazzo, are used throughout the building. Currently the lower level of the building is being leased out to a restaurant which has a lease in place until October 2024. All heating, cooling, electrical, plumbing and exhaust is the responsibility of the tenant. There are 2 one bedroom apartments on the second level which are approximately 600 sqft with separate outside entrances. The apartments are in very good condition, have electric baseboard heating and include a washer and dryer hookup. Recent updates include a new membrane roof in 2019 and new furnace and air conditioner in 2019. This is a great addition to a real estate investment portfolio.
