Casteldardo is the evocative name of one of the most remarkable places in the Val Belluna. It recalls the existence of a castle that once stood tall on one side of the Ardo stream, which was first destroyed in 1189.
The villa of the Counts Piloni, dating back to the 16th century and built not far from the site of the original castle, extends along the crest of a hill from which one can admire the unspoiled landscape of the Dolomites.
The interiors feature refined finishes and remarkable frescoes in several rooms. The entrance to the villa opens onto a spacious hall with an impressive stone staircase. From here, one reaches the main salon with a finely painted vault and a grand fireplace, the dining room, and the other rooms of the residence. Certain wooden floors represent true examples of decorative craftsmanship.
The villa is located halfway between Belluno and Feltre, the two historic centers of the valley. It lies about 30 minutes from the Belluno motorway exit, one and a half hours from Cortina d'Ampezzo, and just over an hour from Treviso or Venice.
