Vienna and Other Places Named Top 10 Most Liveable Cities!

According to the annual survey released by The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), Vienna has taken the top spot in the Global Liveability Index.

The notion of liveability assesses which cities offer the best living conditions worldwide.

The report first quantifies a person's difficulties in any specific setting to compare the findings across locales.

Hence, the livability of each city considered is determined through 30 factors in 5 categories — economic stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education, and infrastructure.

As depicted above, Vienna came in first with a high score of 99.1 out of 100. Among the cities mentioned in this list are cities in Canada such as Calgary, Vancouver, and Toronto, Osaka in Japan and Melbourne in Australia.

As shown, Vienna earned a perfect score of 100 for the overall score; 100.0 for economic stability, education, infrastructure and healthcare, alongside 96.3 for culture and environment.

Other honorary mentions include Calgary, with an overall score of 96.3%, Vancouver (96.1%), Toronto (95.4%), Osaka (95.1%) and Melbourne (95.1%).

The EIU stated that the global average liveability score has recovered from 69.1 to 73.6 since last year, thanks to the pandemic's continued positive progression.
