Thailand now reopening for tourists! Which spots can you travel to?

Thailand is now open to tourists from all countries to travel to their selected destination. Still, travellers must obtain a special tourist visa, bring a PCR test, and quarantine for 14 days upon reaching. Starting July 1st, Thailand will be reopening for tourist its resort island, Phuket!

Fully vaccinated tourists from countries such as Germany, the U.K. and the U.S. are able to visit the island without having to quarantine. Additionally, Thailand plans to fully reopen to vaccinated foreign visitors by mid-October, 2021.

Furthermore, wealthy tourists can choose to spend their mandatory quarantine on a yacht. Under the new "Digital Yacht Quarantine Program" in Phuket, travellers are welcome to isolate themselves in luxury. However, they are required to bring a negative Covid-19 test and wear a smartwatch health monitor at all times. As long as they remain within 10 kilometres of the shore, visitors can spend those 14 days of quarantine however they wish.

Thailand has also launched a "Golf Quarantine Program", where tourists can spend their mandatory quarantine in one of the five golf resorts set by the government. Golfers must get tested for Covid-19 and stay in their rooms for three days. If the test results are negative, they can then enjoy the resort's facilities and play golf in groups for the rest of the quarantine period.

On March 7th, the first group of 42 visitors successfully completed their golf quarantine. They were free to travel around the country, according to a press release from TAT.
